The concept behind Ready To Dance…

I am extremely passionate about spreading the benefits that dance can provide to your students. Coming from a strong background in dance I have gathered a lot of experience in teaching and performing that I would love to share.

Each lesson can be catered to a specific class with different objectives in mind. I will identify and select appropriate exercises and modes for the selected levels of the students. Exercise through dance gives the students an opportunity to express themselves through movement of the body.

The main aim for all of my lessons is to develop the student’s confidence and creativity alongside their performance while at the same time increasing their stamina, flexibility, and all round fitness through dance. Physical education promotes healthy active lifestyles, increases physical fitness and skill development.

Dance is important

There are so many reasons why dance is important to the health and development of our young people. Above all children need to move any way to get kids moving on their feet is a must. Dance burns calories, strengthens muscles, improves balance, increases flexibility and gives the heart a good workout. Dance has also been proven to increase cognitive development. Current research documents the importance of exercise on the brain and supports what dancers have always known. The body and the mind are connected in vital ways.

Utilizing dance helps children develop skills that are necessary for learning such as creativity, communication, critical thinking and collaboration. Through creative process students are encouraged to use their imagination collaborate with their peers to solve problems and discover multiple solutions to challenges.

There is zero equipment needed for my lessons. It is non-contact and can be done outdoors if needed.

The benefits

Learning, thought, creativity and intelligence don’t just come from the brain alone but from the entire body. Movement combinations increase memory order and sequencing skills. Creating dances also increases self-esteem, which is so very important to learning. We already witness the need for children to move throughout the day having experienced first hand the positive effects that music and dance have on students development I feel it is important for dance to be included in schools

Through dance students learn teamwork, focus, and improvisational skills. Dance awakens new perceptions in children, which help them learn and think in new ways. Dance also enhances skills of perception, observation, and concentration, which will undoubtedly help students in all of their school subjects.

Dancing can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes and sizes having a wide range of physical and mental benefits. Including improved condition of the heart and lungs, increased muscular strength, endurance, motor fitness, increased aerobic fitness, improved muscle tone and strength, weight management
